Reflection

My favorite projects this semester was the Photoshop and Illustrator ones. They were my favorite because I had the most experience in Photoshop prior to this project, and I like to play around in Photoshop in my free time anyways. I enjoyed the Illustrator project because when reading over the projects in the beginning of the school year, I came up with a great idea that I loved, and I pushed myself very hard, even watching extra tutorials to complete the vision in my head. I learned critical skills within the Adobe programs by watching tutorials and testing things out on my own. I also gained skills when writing blog posts and explaining the design process helped me organize my thoughts. My major is Digital Technology and Culture with a minor in art, so this class has helped me learn valuable information about potentially being a graphic designer, and overall, I really enjoyed it.  Knowing Adobe’s programs and how to use them is prime to a graphic designer and or artist in general. I love the endless possibilities their programs allow you to make. Some skills I wish were available in this class was for other Adobe programs, like Lightroom. I wish I learned Lightroom in this class because I really like photography and it would be useful for the future. For the Photoshop project, I found websites like Unsplash the most useful because they have so many high-quality photos with a free license, which is extremely helpful. Unsplash’s images were easy to work with and sometimes browsing their photos gave me inspiration.  Youtube was the most helpful for the Preimere project because it gave good inspiration on video material. My overall takeaway from this class is positive. I dreaded the tutorials because they were extremely frustrating and the most difficult out of all the assignments in a unit. But all the information I learned is very useful, especially considering my career path.
